Robin AI, a London, UK-based generative AI startup that aims to make contracts simple, raised $10.5M in funding.

The round was led by Plural, with participation from Episode 1, Tom Blomfield, and senior executives across the legal and private equity industries from Bridgepoint, Apollo, Clifford Chance and Barings.

The company intends to use the funds to further development of its tech team. It has enabled the partial acquisition of competitor LawGeex, whose customers include UBS, PWC, Ebay and Pepsi. Robin AI is adding a cohort of these customers to its existing base of private equity and financial services clients including law firm Clifford Chance, and impact fund Blue Earth Capital.

Founded in 2019 and led by Richard Robinson, CEO, Robin AI provides free self-serve software that helps SMEs process contracts faster and at significantly lower cost. Businesses can make use of features to edit volume contracts efficiently, alongside specialist support from its 30 in-house lawyers. The company serves a diverse range of customers from large multinational corporations to SMEs and scale-ups.

Robin AI’s machine learning model is trained on proprietary data from 4.5 million legal documents, enabling users to draft and negotiate contracts faster, saving on legal fees.
