Argilla Raises $1.6M in Seed Funding

Argilla

Argilla, a Madrid, Spain-based provider of a platform that empowers enterprises to build production-ready natural language processing (NLP) solutions, raised $1.6M in Seed funding.

The round was led by Zetta Venture Partners and Caixa Capital Risc.

The company intends to use the funds to expand the open-source, data-centric labeling platform across US, India, Europe, South America and Asia.

Founded in 2017 by Daniel Vila Suero, Ph.D. (AI) and Francisco Aranda, Argilla provides an open-source, data-centric labeling platform that enables enterprises to build NLP products through data labeling and curation with human-in-the-loop and programmatic labeling features. Enterprises can use it to involve domain experts in their NLP lifecycle, which improves data quality and allows them to utilize sophisticated programmatic labeling methods from academia, which also reduces labeling costs.

Argilla has thousands of users across the US, India, Europe, South America, Africa, and Asia. Current customers include Reale Seguros (Italy), Airbus (Germany), and Red Eléctrica de España, Idealista (Spain).

The cloud offering (currently in alpha) will be available in the US and globally in Q1 2023.
