tepeo Raises £10.5M in Series A Funding

Tepeo

Tepeo, a Winnersh, Wokingham, UK-based provider of a zero emission boiler, raised £10.5M in Series A funding.

The round was led by BGF with participation from Clean Growth Fund, Bonheur, and Renewable Environmental Investments.

The company intends to use the funds to to develop its Wokingham head office, growing its production, R&D, assembly and commercial teams, as well as expanding sales across the UK.

Led by founder and CEO Johan du Plessis, tepeo have developed a new form of low carbon heating – the Zero Emission Boiler (ZEB®). This plug-in replacement for existing gas, oil, LPG or electric boilers works with existing heating & hot water systems to deliver low carbon & low cost heating with minimal changes to the home. The ZEB’s smart tech automatically heats a thermal core at the cheapest and greenest times of day, taking into account the customer’s electricity tariff, grid carbon intensity forecast, and customers’ preferences for how carbon or cost conscious they want their ZEB to be. From Spring 2023 the ZEB will also be able to charge on excess solar electricity generated by a home’s solar PV that would otherwise have to be exported to the grid for a low price.
