Mews Closes $185M Series C Funding

Mews, a global hospitality technology company, closed its Series C round at $185m.

The equity round was led by Kinnevik and the Growth Equity business within Goldman Sachs Asset Management with participation from Revaia, Derive Ventures and Orbit Capital; and returning investors including Battery Ventures, Notion Capital, Salesforce Ventures, Thayer Ventures, and henQ.

The company, which also expanded its existing debt facility with Columbia Lake Partners, intends to use the funds to accelerate product innovation, global expansion and M&A. This latest round brings the total amount raised to date to $225m.

The fundraising caps a year of significant growth for Mews; revenue is over 174% higher year-over-year and Gross Payment Volume (GPV) increased 227% year-over-year to $2.3 billion. Customers include Nordic Choice, Accor, The Social Hub, Les Airelles, Life House, Pandox and Generator-Freehand.

Led by Matthijs Welle, CEO, and Richard Valtr, Founder, Mews provides a hospitality platform to over 3,000 properties in 70 countries. The Mews Hospitality Cloud is designed to streamline operations for modern hoteliers, transform the guest experience and create more profitable businesses. In 2022, the company announced Mews for Salesforce, a native integration between a property management system and the Salesforce CRM. Mews also announced strategic partnerships with Leading Hotels of the World and Relais & Châteaux. The company also completed the acquisition of the POS innovator, Bizzon.

Customers include Accor, Generator-Freehand, Nordic Choice Hotels, The Social Hub, Life House and Les Airelles.

The company, which has offices in Europe, the United States and Australia, also launched Mews Ventures, its investment arm with already multiple deals closed and pending.
