Fathom Raises $46M Series B Financing

Fathom, a San Francisco, CA-based medical coding automation company, raised $46M in Series B funding.

The round was led by Alkeon Capital and Lightspeed Venture Partners, with participation from Cedars-Sinai, Vituity Inflect Health, ApolloMD, Founders Fund, and Tarsadia. Galym Imanbayev, M.D., Partner at Lightspeed, and Mark McLaughlin, General Partner at Alkeon Capital, will join the Fathom Board of Directors.

The company intends to use the funds to expand the number of specialties and health systems they support and continue to scale its engineering team.

Led by CEO Andrew Lockhart, Fathom offers a medical coding automation platform, an AI solution that combines deep learning and Natural Language Processing (NLP) to automate medical coding. The company provides automation rates and specialty coverage to help clients increase speed and accuracy while reducing costs.
