TGI Sport Acquires Sportseen

TGI Sport

TGI Sport, a Melbourne, Australia-based sports technology, media, and marketing company, acquired Sportseen, a London, UK-based rights buying and digital advertising sales firm.

The amount of the deal was not disclosed.

With the acquisition, TGI Sport will expand its offering.

Founded in 2007 by Chris Jones and Vasco Gomes, Sportseen is a Sports Advertising sales agency which lists over 150 brands to whom it annually delivers and distributes tailored advertising across its entire rights portfolio. The company specializes in rights acquisition, sales, creative, and distribution of LED advertising. Its client roster includes top-tier leagues and federations including the Football Associations of England, Wales and Scotland, the Welsh and Italian Rugby Unions, Ashes Cricket, The Rugby Football League and many established and emerging brands including Visa, Continental, Just Eat, J.D. Sports, Hormann, Euronics, Sage.

Jones and Gomes will remain with the company, leading “Sportseen, powered by TGI Sport” and reporting to TGI Sport Global CEO Martin Jolly. 

Led by CEO Martin Jolly and owned jointly by Bruin Capital and Quadrant Private Equity, TGI Sport is a company providing sports technology, media, and marketing, connecting sports entities and fans worldwide. The combined operations span North America, South America, Europe, Australia, and New Zealand, and its teams support around 3,500+ events annually. TGI Sport has built relationships with many of the world’s leading sporting organizations, including UEFA, FIFA, CONCACAF, CONMEBOL, Mediapro, Major League Soccer, U.S. Soccer, Ligue National de Rugby, ECB, ICC, F.C. Barcelona, Manchester United FC, Liverpool FC, and Juventus F.C. TGI’s businesses include TLA Worldwide, QMS NZ, and Sportsmate.

The latest deal follows recent media agency acquisitions: Interregional Sports Group (ISG) and Brand Brigade.
