StoryFit Closes $5.5M in Series A Funding



StoryFit, an Austin, TX-based AI technology company providing machine learning and audience insights for the entertainment industry, raised $5.5M in Series A funding.

The round was led by Refinery Ventures with participation from Techstars, Elkstone Partners, Collective Capital Ventures, and Alumni Ventures. Refinery’s managing partner, Tim Schigel, will join StoryFit’s board.

The company intends to use the funds to expand client solutions and execute on its hiring strategy focused on machine learning, marketing and sales.

Led by CEO Monica Landers, Chief Operating Officer Marc Evans, Head of Growth and Revenue Kymn Goldstein, and Andy Terrel, PhD., StoryFit delivers AI-powered Story Science for the entertainment and publishing industries, throughout a story’s lifecycle, from acquisition and creative development through production greenlight and marketing and distribution. The company uses artificial intelligence to measure over 100,000 key features and compare to thousands of other scripts or books to generate actionable insights.
