Prolific Machines Raises $42M in Seed and Series A Funding

Prolific Machines, a San Francisco, CA-based biotechnology company, raised $42M in Seed and Series A funding.

Prolific’s first round was closed in late 2020, when SOSV’s IndieBio led their Pre-Seed round. The Seed round was led by Arvind Gupta at Mayfield. The Series A was led by Breakthrough Energy Ventures, with participation from David Adelman, Mark Cuban, The Kraft Group, David Rubenstein, Michael Rubin, Breyer Capital, The SALT Fund, Purple Orange Ventures, Fred Blackford, Jake Poliskin, Baruch Future Ventures, David Adelman, Mark Cuban, The Kraft Group, Kevin Love, Tobias Harris, Meek Mill, Ciara & Russell Wilson, Emily Ratajkowski, Maverick Carter, Sean Feeney, Michael Schulson, Mark Bucher, and RJ Melman.

The company intends to use the funds to continue to expand its development efforts.

Led by CEO Dr. Deniz Kent, Prolific Machines is a biomanufacturing company that initially focuses on cultured meat, cell-agnostic, meaning that it could be applied to myriad of different applications in biotechnology.
