Skipper Raises $5.8M in Seed Funding

Skipper, a fully remote hospitality tech company, raised $5.8M in seed funding.

The round was led by Gradient Ventures with participation from Pear.VC, Wayfinder, Uncommon Capital, ERA, and angels Ryan Simonetti (Convene), Neil Parikh (Casper), Aaron Frank (Final), and other leaders in tech and hospitality.

The company intends to use the funds to continue to expand operations and its business reach.

Led by Jason Shames, co-founder & CEO, Skipper is a tech hospitality company that offers a booking platform for hotels to compete with large chains and online travel agencies.

The company has just released a streamlined booking engine, natively embedded on the hotel website, with alternative payment methods like Google Pay, to make booking easy.

Next, the company focuses on building a network of hotels leveraging its booking technology to offer shared guest identity and profiles. Skipper’s network will equip hotels with guest details, preferences, stay history, and lifetime value. This will offer hoteliers a complete view of their guests and enable personalized offers & rewards to increase conversions and delight guests further.

Over the past six months, the company has tripled its engineering and product organizations and has focused on building integrations with multiple existing hotel software providers, enabling easy implementation of Skipper for customers.
