Agave Games Raises $7M in Seed Funding

Agave Games

Agave Games, an Istanbul, Turkey-based casual puzzle game studio, raised $7M in Seed funding.

The round was led by Balderton Capital with participation from Felix Capital and 500 Startups.

The company intends to use the funds to riple its headcount from 12 to around 40 in the next 18 months as it develops its first casual puzzle game for IOS and Android.

Co-founded by four experienced Turkish mobile game developers Alper Oner, Burak Kar, Baran Terzioglu and Oguzhan Merdivenli, Agave Games is a casual puzzle game studio looking to create a game that will have market dominance and as such the entire studio will only be working on one game at a time. The typical timeline for developing games is for a first prototype to take six to eight months, followed by a similar length of time again for the testing. Agave expects its game to be downloaded in the US, Canadian, UK and Japanese markets initially, but wants to maximise the user experience of the game to target the broadest possible audience of adults.
