Retool, a San Francisco, CA-based provider of an application development platform for internal tools, raised $45M in Series C2 funding.

The round, which valued the company at $3.2 Billion was led by Sequoia Capital, John and Patrick Collison, Nat Friedman, Elad Gil, Daniel Gross, and Caryn Marooney.

Led by CEO David Hsu, Retool provides a platform to build internal tools, visually design apps that interface with any database or API, switch to code nearly anywhere to customize how apps look and work. The company also announced major updates to its free plan for developers, which now allows teams of up to five users to build unlimited apps. With this new free plan, startups, small teams, and solo developers can build unlimited apps using Retool’s 90+ pre-built components, 40+ data and API connections, and Retool’s app hosting service.

Currently, thousands of teams at companies like Amazon, DoorDash, Snowflake, and Brex collaborate around custom-built Retool apps to solve internal workflows. The company is also building out employee hubs in New York City, London, and Seattle.
