SuperTeam Games Raises $10M in First Funding

SuperTeam Games, a California-based independent games studio, raised $10m in its first round of funding.

The round was led by Griffin Gaming Partners, with participation from Powerhouse Capital and individual contributors such as former Disney CEO Michael Eisner and MLS franchise owners Steve Kaplan and Bennett Rosenthal. Griffin’s Managing Director, Peter Levin, has joined the Board of Directors at SuperTeam Games. 

The company intends to use the funds to develop cross-platform sports games that utilize blockchain technology.

Co-founded by industry veterans Jerome Collin, Mike Saperstein, Sam Sheth and Andre Taube, SuperTeam Games aims to develop a new kind of sports game enhanced by blockchain integration.
introduce new concepts to the genre. The games will be powered by Forte as part of a strategic partnership. Forte’s platform integrates blockchain technologies into games, enabling features such as embeddable token wallets, non-fungible token (NFT) minting and selling, and provides services to create thriving economies in a secure and compliant way.

SuperTeam Games has built a team of more than 25 developers bringing experience from industry heavyweights Disney, Zynga, EA, Ubisoft, SEGA, 3DO, GLU, Konami, Wizards of the Coast and Capcom. The company’s first game will launch with a closed Beta this summer.
