Black Swan Data, a London, UK-based data science and consumer behaviour prediction company, closed an $18.5M growth funding.
The round was led by Oxx, with participation from existing investor AlbionVC. In conjunction with the funding, Philip Edmondson-Jones, Principal at Oxx, joined Black Swan Data’s board.
The company intends to use the funds to develop more advanced features and capabilities in Trendscope,
Founded in 2011 and led by Steve King, CEO, and Hugo Amos, Chief Strategy Officer, Black Swan Data is a data science and technology company, whose platform ingests and analyses a variety of online and social media data sources to understand and predict consumer behaviour. This consumer insight is delivered to client partners through a combination of self-serve tools and consumer insight specialists. The company, which employs over 150 people across offices in London, New York, Cape Town and Szeged, serves global clients including PepsiCo, P&G, Kraft Heinz and Harley Davidson.
