Common Energy Raises $16.5M in Funding

Common Energy

Common Energy, a New York-based energy company, raised $16.5M in funding.

The round was led by S2G Ventures, the direct investment team of Builders Vision.

The company intends to use the funds to expand consumer access to local, community solar projects across the country, scale its management platform, and grow the management and operating teams.

Led by CEO Richard Keiser, Common Energy provides programs that enable homeowners, renters, and businesses to support clean energy, lower emissions in their communities and save money on their electricity for free, with their existing utility account.

For project owners, Common Energy’s platform is a cloud-based SAAS that enables them to manage and monetize complex, multi-tenant distributed generation projects. The software platform provides financial and collections visibility, resulting in higher project ROI for its clients, and can be customized to facilitate reporting and accounting.
