Grafana Labs Raises $240M in Series D Funding

Grafana Labs, a NYC-based provider of open and composable operational dashboards, raised $240m in Series D funding.

The round was led by GIC, with participation from new investor J.P. Morgan, and existing investors Sequoia Capital, Coatue, Lightspeed Venture Partners, and Lead Edge Capital.

The company intends to use the funds to expand operations, business reach and development efforts.

Led by CEO and Co-founder Raj Dutt, Grafana Labs provides an open and composable monitoring and observability stack built around Grafana, the open source technology for dashboards and visualization. The company, which serves more than 2,000 customers including Bloomberg, eBay, PayPal, and Sony, with more than 900,000 active installations of Grafana around the globe, helps users manage their observability strategies with full-stack offerings that can be run fully managed with Grafana Cloud, or self-managed with Grafana Enterprise Stack, both featuring extensive enterprise data source plugins, dashboard management, alerting, reporting and security, scalable metrics (Grafana Mimir), logs (Grafana Loki), and traces (Grafana Tempo).

They have also launched a full slate of open source observability projects, including Grafana Loki (for logging), Grafana Tempo (for traces), and most recently, Grafana Mimir (for metrics).
