Adranos, a West Lafayette, IN-based startup that manufactures solid rocket motors, raised $20M in Series A funding.

The round, which brings the total capital raised to date to over $25m, was led by Bob Bishop with participation from Impala Asset Management LLC and several other entities, including Explorer1 Fund, Elevate Ventures, and Specific Impulse Capital.

The company intends to use the funds to grow its teams in Indiana and Mississippi as well as ramp up its production capacity.

Co-founded in November 2015 by Brandon Terry, Ph.D, and Chris Stoker, Adranos manufactures solid rocket motor propulsion systems for hypersonic boosters, tactical missiles, space launch vehicles, and other platforms. The company’s motors feature its proprietary aluminum-lithium alloy fuel called ALITEC that increases the range, payload performance, and speed of defense and space systems.
