Terra Drone, a Tokyo, Japan-based drone and urban air mobility (UAM) technology company, raised $70M in Series B funding.
Backers included Mitsui & Co., SBI Investment Co., Tokyu Land Corporation, Kyushu Electric Power T&D, Seika Corporation, Japan Overseas Infrastructure Investment Corporation for Transport & Urban Development, Venture Lab Investment.
The company intends to use the funds to expand operations and its business reach.
Led by CEO Toru Tokushige, Terra Drone is a provider of industrial drone solutions including hardware and cloud-based software for survey and inspection such as Terra Lidar and thickness measurement by ultrasonic NDT.
The company also has overseas operations primarily in Europe and Southeast Asia.
