Pony.ai, a Fremont, CA-based global autonomous driving technology company, completed the first close of its Series D financing.
The backers were not disclosed.
The company intends to use the proceeds from the funding to further augment its hiring, investment in research and development, global testing of robotaxi and robotrucking, enter into important strategic partnerships, and accelerate its development toward mass production and mass commercial deployment.
Led by James Peng, co-founder and CEO, Tiancheng Lou, co-founder and CTO, Pony.ai provides a global autonomous driving technology company pursuing a vision for autonomous mobility. Founded in late 2016, Pony.ai has formed partnerships with leading OEMs including Toyota, FAW Group, GAC Group, etc.
Additional details of the Series D financing will be announced in due course at the closing of the full financing round.
