Flux Marine, a Briston RI-based developer of all-electric outboard motors and battery systems for watercraft, raised $15.5m in Series A funding.
The round was led by Ocean Zero with participation from Boost VC and Winklevoss Capital, as well as previous seed and angel investors.
The company intends to use the funds to expand manufacturing, recruit additional talent, and continue to develop its advanced technologies.
Led by Ben Sorkin, CEO, Flux Marine is advancing electric outboard motors and battery systems which deliver power and reliability while eliminating the CO2 emissions and pollution that plagues gasoline and diesel-powered boats.
The company’s outboard motors include the 15HP, 40HP, 70HP and 100 HP models.
