Draftea, a Mexico City, MX-based Daily Fantasy Sports (DFS) platform provider, raised $4M in funding.
Backers included Pau Gasol, Cesar Azpilicueta, Iker Casillas, Thirty Five Ventures of Kevin Durant and Rich Kleiman, Travis Kelce, Odell Beckham Jr, Arrive of JayZ, Mantis VC of the The Chainsmokers, Courtside Ventures and NNS Advisers.
The company intends to use the funds to accelerate growth and expand across LatinAmerican markets.
Led by CEO Alán Jaime, Draftea enables fans to earn money thanks to their knowledge of soccer, and soon other sports. They just have to put together their lineups with the stars of their favorite teams, and will earn points for each action their Dream Team does in real life matches. The app is available for Android and Apple phones for sports fans from all over Mexico.
