Wild Cosmetics, a London, UK-based design-led personal care startup, raised £5M in funding.
The round was led by JamJar Investments with participation from existing investors Creator Collective Capital, and Slingshot Ventures and digital creators and influencers including Niomi Smart, Grace Bevererly and Casper Lee.
The company intends to use the funds to expand internationally and extend the product range into other personal care segments.
Launched in August 2019 by former HelloFresh Marketing Director, Freddy Ward (32) and entrepreneur Charlie Bowes-Lyon (32), Wild Cosmetics provides personal care products whose collection includes a range of scents that are all free from harsh chemicals such as parabens and aluminium salts that a typical antiperspirant might include.
The subscription-based company, which pioneered plastic-free refillable deodorant in 2019, recorded 400 % YoY growth in 2021, selling 2.5 million of its gender neutral line of natural compostable deodorants.
Online growth has helped Wild expand into the physical world with over 500 stockists nationwide including Waitrose, Boots, Selfridges and Sainsbury’s.
