Tala Raises £4.2M in Funding

Tala, a London, UK-based sustainable activewear brand, raised £4.2M ($5.7M) in funding.

The round was co-led by Active Partners and Venrex with participation from Pembroke VCT, as well as angel investors including Nicola Kilner (CEO & Founder, Deciem), Michelle Kennedy (CEO & Founder, Peanut) and Simon Mottram (Founder, Rapha). In conjunction with the funding, Jason Mahendran, Investor at Active Partners, will also be joining the Tala board.

The company intends to use the funds to bring its activewear into the mainstream, investing in inventory, hiring and international growth.

Founded by fitness entrepreneur Grace Beverley, Tala is a sustainable activewear brand offering leggings, shorts, sports bras, tops, hoodies, tracksuits, outerwear, underwear and more. The brand’s products and packaging are made with upcycled, recycled and natural materials. Tala has a loyal customer base in the UK and internationally and a team of 12 employees.
