PhishFirewall Closes $2.5M Initial Seed Round

PhishFirewall, a Huntsville, ALA-based SaaS cybersecurity company, raised $2.5M in seed financing round.

The Cox Group, headquartered in Mt. Vernon, Indiana led the round, and Barry Cox, the Cox Group’s president, joins PhishFirewall’s board of directors.

The company intends to use the funds to expand operations and its business reach.

Founded by Joshua Crumbaugh, founder and Chief Technology Officer, and led by CEO Johnny Thorington, PhishFirewall uses automated and individualized social engineering and training, powered with artificial intelligence and advanced analytics. It creates a human firewall against phishing attacks. The company specializes in protecting enterprises in high-profile critical infrastructure sectors. The company currently serves clients in finance, manufacturing, logistics, utilities and education.
