Brick Raises $8.5M in Seed Funding

Brick

Brick, a Singapore-based company provider of Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) for fintech, raised $8.5M in Seed funding.

The round was led by Flourish Ventures and Antler, with participation from Trihill Capital, Better Tomorrow Ventures, Rally Cap Ventures, Sima Gandhi, Yan Wu, Brian Ma, Ooi Hsu Ken, Amrish Rau and Andrea Baronchelli.

The company intends to use the funds to accelerate growth, scale tech platforms to expand product offerings, and support more developers in the region to build inclusive financial services.

Founded in 2020 by Gavin Tan (CEO) and Deepak Malhotra (CTO), Brick builds Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) for fintech and consumer tech companies. The Brick API suite – Brick Data (account aggregation), Brick Verification (KYC & fraud checks) and Brick Payments (pay-out & pay-in) – allows tech companies to charge their apps with personalised and inclusive financial services. These APIs make it easy for popular fintech platforms to offer payment, credit, investment and insurance products to their consumers by connecting those platforms with hyper-local data sources. The company works with thousands of developers in the country and has signed up more than 50 paying clients. These include some of Indonesia’s fastest-growing Indonesian fintechs and conglomerates like Sinarmas Group and Astra Financial.
