Amplication Raises $6.6M in Seed Funding

Amplication, an Israeli developer of an open-source project that streamlines and automates backend development, raised $6.6m in seed funding.

The round was led by Norwest Venture Partners and Vertex Ventures Israel, joined by Entrée Capital, Velocity Ventures and angel investors that include the founders of Datorama (acquired by Salesforce), Epsagon (acquired by Cisco) and Bridgecrew (acquired by Palo Alto Networks).

The company intends to use the funds for expansion of its open-source community, product development and the introduction of an enterprise version of the platform. 

Led by Yuval Hazaz, founder and CEO, Amplication is a developer of an open-source project that streamlines and automates backend development. The platform, which is already supported by a community of programmers in 160 countries, auto-generates fully functional, human-readable and editable apps based on TypeScript and Node.js. This includes NestJS, Prisma, REST API, GraphQL API, a React admin UI, authentication, authorization and testing.
