FutureAI, a Washington, DC-based early-stage deep technology startup, raised $2M in funding.
The backers were not disclosed.
Led by Charles J. Simon, founder and CEO, FutureAI is an early-stage deep technology company developing artificial general intelligence (AGI) that replicates facets of the true understanding common to all human beings.
The company intends to use the funds to expand its team and accelerate the development of its technology, including algorithms like the Universal Knowledge Store (UKS), which aggregates different types of information and creates connections between them, similar to the cognitive processes of human intelligence. Modeled in neurons, the UKS has biological plausibility and the ability to learn and function unsupervised the way children do.
FutureAI’s work in symbolic AI and neuromorphic computing includes the Universal Knowledge Store, for storing and linking the many types of information the human brain comprehends, and an artificial entity codenamed “Sallie,” which demonstrates facets of true understanding.
