Trala, a Chicago, IL-based music education app, raised new funding bringing the total to $6.9M.
Backers included leaders at Coinbase, LinkedIn, AirBnB, Apple Ads, Doordash, the Seattle Symphony, and VMWare.
The company intends to use the funds to continue to expand globally.
Led by Sam Walder, CEO and co-founder, Trala is a music education app empowering students to learn violin at any age. When students download Trala, they’re matched with a violin teacher for their age, skill level, and goals. In between online violin lessons, students work through a large library of videos and interactive sheet music. Its proprietary signal processing algorithms additionally give students instant feedback on pitch and rhythm every time they practice.
Over the past 3 years, the app has been downloaded by 400,000+ people from 193 countries. The company is backed by tech visionaries like Duolingo’s CEOĀ Luis von AhnĀ and artists likeĀ Joshua Bell.
