Livebuy, a Berlin, Germany-based live shopping startup, raised $5.6M in Seed funding.

The round was led by RTP Global with participation from business angels including Scott Chacon (Github Co-Founder), Mavericks Founders and former Sony Music CEO Philip Ginthör.

The company intends to use the funds to further develop its software offering, expand the scope of the services it offers to customers, and expand across other European markets.

Founded in 2020 by social commerce pioneers Alex von Harsdorf, Bertold Harmath and Armin Gattung, Livebuy provides a live shopping service which aims to bring the “teleshopping” concept into the age of smartphones. The technology developed by the company allows retailers, brand manufacturers and online marketplaces to expand their offerings operating their own live video shopping platforms and integrating them directly into their websites and online marketplaces.

Since its founding in August 2020, several European market leaders, such as the international beauty company Douglas, the industry leader in electronics retail MediaMarktSaturn and the consumer goods giant Lidl, have used the software. Celebrities like Kylie Jenner, Miranda Kerr and Jessica Alba are also amongst the early adopters of the app.
