Airplane, a San Francisco, CA-based developer platform for automating internal workflows, raised $8.5M Series A funding.
The round was led by Benchmark. In conjunction with the funding, Benchmark general partner Eric Vishria will also join Airplane’s board of directors.
The company intends to use the funds to capitalize on early traction, expand the team, and accelerate its vision towards a world-class enterprise software platform.
Founded by Ravi Parikh, the former CTO at Benchling (another successful Benchmark portfolio company) and the co-founder of startup Heap, Airplane provides a platform built for developers to transform scripts and codes into internal lightweight tools and apps, allowing them to be accessible to non-engineering team members. The system helps platform developers provide the ability to build notifications, permissions, audit logs, multi-step workflows and more.
