Gradle Raises $27M in Series C Funding

Gradle Inc., a San Francisco, CA-based provider of solutions that accelerate software developer productivity, closed a $27m Series C funding.

The round was led by Triangle Peak Partners with participation from True Ventures, DCVC, Bain Capital Ventures, Harmony Partners, and StepStone Group.

The company intends to invest further in scaling sales and customer support internationally and extend its product functionality leadership, including the application of AI/ML technologies to Gradle Enterprise build and test acceleration and analytic capabilities.

Elite development teams from companies like ASML, eBay, Fitbit, LinkedIn, Microsoft, Pinterest, Salesforce, Square and Twitter, use Gradle Enterprise to more rapidly deliver quality software at scale. Gradle is also the company behind the popular open-source Gradle Build Tool which is downloaded over 25 million times a month.

Led by Hans Dockter, co-founder and CEO, Gradle provides a build and test performance acceleration technology and analytics platform to improve the developer experience.

Key components of the Gradle Enterprise solution for DPE include build and test acceleration technologies (for both local and CI builds) and analytics to proactively improve the reliability of the developer toolchain and make failure troubleshooting more efficient. The platform supports a growing number of build and test technologies including Gradle, Apache Maven, Android, JUnit and soon Bazel and test frameworks for Python and Javascript such as Pytest, Jasmine and Cypress.
