Faraway Raises $21 M in Series A Funding

Faraway, a Miami FL-based game developer and publishing studio, raised $21M in Series A funding.

The round was led by Lightspeed Venture Partners and FTX, with participation from a16z, Sequoia Capital, Pantera Capital, Jump Capital and Solana.

The company, which raised over $8m earlier this year in its seed round, intends to use the funds to expand operations and its business reach.

Led by CEO Alex Paley, CTO Duc Nguyen, and Dennis Zdonov, Faraway is a new gaming studio leveraging blockchain technology to create player-driven and decentralized game economies. It is set to launch Mini Royale: Nations, a browser-based first person shooter with no third party client or installation required, making it instantly playable on any hardware, on the Solana blockchain platform.  

Faraway is a globally diversified team of 40 that exists across several countries with its HQ based in Miami. The company is currently expanding across all departments.
