HistoWiz Raises $32M in Series A Financing

HistoWiz, a NYC-based digital histopathology service company, closed a $32m Series A financing.

The round was led by Vivo Capital and included other investors venBio, Asahi Kasei and Jon Oringer.

The company intends to use the funds to expand the services, build a flagship lab with the latest tissue-sectioning and embedding robots, grow the team, and continue to innovate in this field.

Led by Dr. Ke Cheng, Founder and CEO, HistoWiz has provided automated histology for over 1000 customers in academia and industry and built PathologyMapTM, an intelligent tissue platform that hosts a large preclinical pathology database. By focusing on automation and AI, the company turns tissue specimens into publication quality digital slides online in as little as 48 hours. PathologyMapTM provides customers with online slide viewing, tagging, storage, collaboration, diagnosis, analysis and the ability to search for pathology data.
