At One Ventures

At One Ventures, a San Francisco, California-based deep-tech venture capital firm, closed its first fund, at $150m.

At One Ventures’ LPs include top executives from Silicon Valley, like-minded corporate venture capitalists from industries the firm is looking to disrupt, and financially savvy high-net-worth individuals and institutions that care about the future of the planet.

The fund finds, funds, and grows early-stage companies on a mission “to destroy the industries that destroy nature.”

The firm is led by:

  • founder and managing partner Tom Chi, the former Head of Experience and founding member of Google X who helped scale the company from 6 people to 600,
  • partner Laurie Menoud who co-led VC for BASF in North America and launched a dozen deep-tech companies at research institute SRI International, and
  • principal Helen Lin who has two decades of experience in M&A and operations spanning four continents, including the design of innovative digital financial products for base of the pyramid customers in Africa.

The fund has already made 21 investments including:

  • Iron Ox, a robotic indoor farming company,
  • Dendra, an automated ecosystem restoration company,
  • Gradient, a low-emission HVAC company,
  • Apis Cor, a 3D-printing construction company,
  • Alchemie Technology, a zero wastewater textile dyeing company, and
  • Cruz Foam, a earth digestible foam packaging company.
