Syng

Syng, a Venice, CA-based new company building the next generation of audio, closed a $48.75M Series A round of funding.

The round, which brought funding to-date to over $50M, was led by Eclipse Ventures with participation from Bridford Group, SIP Global Partners, Renegade Partners, Animal Capital, Schusterman Family Office, Lionel Richie, Vince Zampella (Call of Duty creator), Alex Rigopolous (Rock Band creator), Joe Gebbia (Airbnb co-founder), Mike Krieger (Instagram co-founder).

The company intends to use the funds to fuel R&D for future product lines and premium software, a key component of Syng’s inaugural product, the Cell Alpha, and Triphonic technology.

Co-founded by Christopher Stringer (CEO) and Damon Way (CBO; formerly DC Shoes + Incase), Syng provides Cell Alpha, a Triphonic speaker that provides a fully immersive experience that gives creators and listeners the power to engage with, explore, and share sound in new ways.

Before founding Syng, Stringer spent 20+ years as Apple’s lead designer working on the development of the most iconic consumer products of our time (including iPhone, iPad, MacBook, and Apple Watch, among many others).
