Saqara (formerly known as AOS), an Aubervilliers, France-based bid management platform for the construction industry, raised $10M in Series A funding.
The round was led by A/O PropTech with participation from Activum SG, Caisse des Dépôts et Consignation, Concrete VC and Leigh Jasper.
The company intends to use the funds to support its international growth in key markets such as the UK, Germany, Netherlands and North Africa.
Led by Alexandre Brochot, President, Saqara provides a software platform which brings the entire procurement process into a centralized software platform that facilitates the tendering process for projects in the building and construction industry, from its initiation to the signing of contractual documents. It is used by project managers, contracting authorities, general contractors, and construction companies. In 2020, the company launched Chantier Privé par Saqara, a complementary digital platform that connects construction companies and project developers according to geographical areas, sizes, and project types, and expanded into Belgium, Luxembourg and Switzerland. Its geographical deployment also includes a new Tunisian strategic hub to accelerate its MENA footprint.
The company has launched 4,500 projects on its platform since 2018, totalling over €18 billion of construction and infrastructure works. It has 120 employees who serve more than 500 clients, 50,000 users and more than 25,000 referenced contractors.
