VersusGame, a San Mateo CA-based provider of a prediction-based app, raised $3M in seed funding.
Backers included Mark Pincus, Kevin Hart, Will.i.am, Jeffrey Katzenberg, Mark Burnett, Nas, Mack Maine, Gee Robertson, Polo, Anthony Saleh, and more.
The company intends to use the funds to continue expanding its partner and user base in the entertainment, sports and social media spaces.
Led by John Vitti, VersusGame provides a pop culture gaming app where users can put money on trending topics about celebrities, pop culture, sports, entertainment, food, and more. The app has recently partnered with talent in the MMA, music, and sports industries. Since its launch in 2019, VersusGame has distributed over $16 Million in cash prizes to more than 7 million players.
The company has received over $12m in funding.
