Equality Check, an Oslo, Norway-based crowd-sourced employee review platform, raised €1.25m in seed funding.

The Norwegian venture capital fund Alliance Venture lead the round, together with several angel investors and the global early-stage VC Antler.

The company intends to use the funds for product development and international expansion.

Founded in 2018 by Marie Louise Sunde and Isabelle Ringnes, Equality Check provides a digital platform offering insights into opportunities for employee advancement and growth regardless of gender, ethnicity, sexuality or age in individual companies. It also supplies companies with a means to assess their own progress in terms of promoting and maintaining progressive gender equality policies, with data from employees informing the analysis.

In recent months, the company has entered into several major collaborations with one of Norway’s leading news outlets, E24, as well as KPMG, and acquired some of Norway’s largest organisations as paying customers.
