Echion Technologies, a Cambridge UK-based developer of next generation materials for Lithium-Ion batteries, raised £10M in Series A funding.

The round was led by CBMM with participation from the University of Cambridge and Origin Capital.

The company intends to use the funds to scale material production, demonstrating manufacturability as well as to supply the demand for material for pre-production trials and strengthen customer support, commercial and R&D operations.

Led by CEO Jean de La Verpilliere, Echion Technologies is a developer of advanced lithium-ion battery materials, whose products enable cell manufacturers to deliver cost-effective, fast-charging, high-energy density and long-life power cells for a wide range of markets including automotive, transportation, premium consumer electronics, and grid-storage applications.

The batteries have been evaluated by major battery cell and battery materials manufacturers around the world and are now moving forward to larger scale trials.
