Connectd, a London, UK-based growth marketplace connecting startups, investors and advisors, raised $1m in seed funding.
The round was led by Saracens owner Nigel Wray with participation from LiFE Ventures, Toni Nijm of Yobi Partners and Steve Castle of ABC Investors.
The funding will be used to fuel recruitment, build out the product and prepare for international expansion in 2022.
Co-founded by serial entrepreneur Roei Samuel, Connectd uses smart matching technology to put data at the core of startup early-stage funding. A curation tools enable founders to create a deep set of progress reporting to ensure investors are kept up-to-date, and investors can target opportunities for deals through data. The Connectd ecosystem brings networking, peer-to-peer learning and meaningful opportunities to connect and deal with the right people, at the right time.
Since its launch in February 2020, the platform has helped almost 100 businesses to raise capital. Analysts from VCs including 8Roads, Octopus, Piton Capital and Second City Ventures, in addition to over 1000 angel investors, family offices and advisors, currently use the platform.
Connectd, which operates through a subscription-based model, has grown to a team of 23 people.
