CommandBar Raises $4.8M in Seed Funding

CommandBar, a San Francisco, CA-based provider of a B2B embeddable search widget that any company can use to make their software simpler and faster to use, raised $4.8M in seed funding.

The round was led by Thrive Capital, with participation from Y Combinator, Boxgroup, and angel investors Calvin French-Owen (Segment Founder), Jack Altman (Lattice Founder), Christian Reber (Pitch Founder) and Naval Ravikant (AngelList Founder).

The company intends to use the funds to continue to expand operations, development efforts and business reach.

Co-founded by James Evans, Richard Freling and Vinay Ayyala, CommandBar works as an always-available search interface that sits on top of any web-based app and enables users to access functionality through search and the keyboard, leveling up the user experience for new users and power users alike. As a UI evolves over time, apps can add commands and personalization to continue making the product easy to use.
