Urban Remedy Closes $18M Series D Funding

Urban Remedy, Point Richmond, Calif.-based plant-based food company offering certified organic ready-to-eat meals, snacks, and cold pressed juices, closed a $18m Series D funding.

The round was led by Manna Tree, with participation from existing partners Builders Fund and Obvious Ventures.

The company intends to use the funds to expand its operations and support further manufacturing efficiencies and increased consumer awareness through digital marketing investments. 

Founded in 2009 by licensed acupuncturist Neka Pasquale, Urban Remedy delivers plant-based, organic prepared meals, snacks and cold pressed juices which are certified organic, certified non-GMO Project Verified, and gluten free. The company operates 270 grocery kiosks in 21 states across the US and the products are also available online for nationwide delivery, at Whole Foods and Safeway.
