Ascenium Raises $25M in Funding

Ascenium, a Campbell, CA-based maker of a a general purpose processor to deliver computing performance, raised $25M in funding.

The round, which brought brings total investment raised to date to $25m, was led by Ascenium Holding AS.

The company plans to use the new capital to grow the team to support its ongoing development efforts and accelerate improvements in its compiler, which can currently compile large benchmark programs to execute on its FPGA testbed.

Led by Pete Foley, CEO, Ascenium Ascenium is creating Aptos, a new class of general-purpose processor for high-performance, energy-efficient data center computing. The company holds nine granted patents and has filed six provisional patents covering all aspects of the Aptos hardware and software.
