Plunk, a Bellevue, Wash.-based mobile app using AI and machine-learning to allow homeowners to make decisions to increase their home’s value, raised $6.5m in seed funding.

The round was led by Unlock Ventures, with participation from institutional investors Sony Innovation Fund, Plug and Play Ventures, Vectr Fintech Partners, and Second Century Ventures (the strategic investment arm of the National Association of Realtors).

The company intends to use the funds to release and iterate on its mobile app, to further develop and bring to market its analytics to support residential real estate professionals.

Founded by David Bluhm and Brian Lent, Plunk provides an app for home buyers, homeowners or home sellers to see what a home could be worth if renovated—called Plunk Value™—as well as get other insights into their home’s upside potential.

The company also offers a new home renovation loan, which enables the financing of major remodeling projects.
