Icon Source, a Denver, CO-based digital marketplace that connects aspiring brands with athletes, closed a $1.6m seed funding round.
Backers in the round included both previous and new investors, including Hawke Ventures.
The company intends to use the funds to its sales team, enhance its digital platform and prepare to begin facilitating deals for college athletes on July 1, 2021.
Led by Chase Garrett, founder and CEO, Icon Source is a digital marketplace connecting agents, athletes and brands. The platform provides brands of all sizes direct communication with agents, eliminating intermediate steps to engage with a professional athlete. Its proprietary AI technology pairs athletes and brands based on social audience demographics.
