ContentCal Raises $6.2M in Series A Funding

ContentCal, a London, UK-based provider of a marketing technology platform, raised $6.2m in Series A funding.

Backers included Fuel Ventures and Guinness Asset Management.

The company intends to use the funds to expand the reach of its content marketing and intelligence platform, make new hires, develop a proprietary content intelligence platform, and open a new US headquarters as well as expand its UK headquarters.

Founded by Alex Packham in 2014 by CEO, ContentCal is a platform for content planning, creation, collaboration and publishing, with in-built analytics and community management features. The company is also developing a new product, ContentCal IQ, a proprietary content intelligence platform that allows marketers to centralize and automate content ideation, creation, publishing and reporting across their social channels, blogs, internal communications and advertising platforms, while integrating with 1,500 other business applications.

ContentCal, which has over 40 staff and 2,000 clients, including WPP, Royal Mail, Denstu Aegis, Marriott and many other global brands, will use the investment to hire over 40 people in the next year, open new headquarters in Austin, Texas, as well as expand its UK operations. They expect to triple revenues in the next 12 months.
