Synthesis AI, a San Francisco, CA-based provider of synthetic data-as-a-service technologies, raised $4.5m in additional funding.
The round was led by existing investors Bee Partners, PJC, iRobot Ventures, Swift Ventures, Boom Capital, Kubera VC and Leta Capital.
The company intends to use the funds to add to its R&D teams.
Led by Yashar Behzadi, CEO, Synthesis AI is a technology company that uses synthetic data to build capable computer vision models. Through a proprietary combination of generative neural network and cinematic CGI pipelines, the company’s platform can programmatically create vast amounts of labeled image data at speed. The technology also scales in the cloud, from research and development phases with small amounts of data to production requirements of terabytes of data.
In addition to securing new funds, Synthesis AI is also launching their FaceAPI product, enabling the on-demand generation of millions of perfectly labeled human images to train more capable computer vision models. FaceAPI is now generally available and currently in use by major technology and handset manufacturers.
