Mux, a San Francisco, CA-based video platform for developers, raised $105m in Series D funding.
The round, which brings total funding to $175m and its valuation to over $1 billion, was led by Coatue, with participation from existing investors Accel, Andreessen Horowitz (a16z), and Cobalt, with new participation from Dragoneer.
The company intends to use the funds to accelerate hiring and to continue to build on their customer-centric platform.
Led by Jon Dahl, CEO and co-founder, Mux enables developers to stream video across every connection and device through APIs for live and on-demand video. Mux Video is complemented by Mux Data, which monitors several billion video streams every month for some of the world’s largest video streaming platforms, helping them to analyze, measure, and optimize their streams for deep engagement and monetization.
Hundreds of publishers including Robinhood, PBS, ViacomCBS, Equinox Media, and VSCO already use Mux.
