illumy, a San Ramon, Calif. – based communications platform, closed a $2.2m angel funding round.
The backers included Rajiv Kapoor, Founder at Chai Angels LP.
The company intends to use the funds to accelerate its platform and endpoint development as they prepare to transition from beta to general release, expand its data centers, increase performance and grow its team in a number of key departments.
Led by Matt McGinnis, founder and CEO, illumy provides a platform unifying textual, vocal and visual communications into one experience. Members can message, group chat, email, voice call or video call from one ad-free app that never collects or sells any data.
