SafeGraph, a Denver, CO-based data-as-a-service company focused on physical places, raised $45m in Series B funding.

The round was led by Sapphire Ventures with participation from Alex Rosen of Ridge Ventures, DNX Ventures, and Peter Thiel.

The company intends to use the funds to expand its business reach.

Led by CEO Auren Hoffman, SafeGraph builds data sets for physical places, covering business listings, building footprints, and aggregated foot traffic data for millions of points of interest (POI) and thousands of brands including Ares Management, Sysco, Goldman Sachs, Verizon Media and the CDC. With detailed brand affiliation, spatial hierarchy, and other key business details, SafeGraph data informs market analytics, investment research, site selection, and more.

Today, the company offers business listing, foot traffic and building polygon data for the United States and Canada, with a United Kingdom launch planned for April of 2021.
