Hornetsecurity Acquires Zerospam

Hornetsecurity Group, a Hanover, Germany-based cloud email security provider, acquired Zerospam, a Montreal, Canada-based email protection company.

The amount of the deal was not disclosed. The transaction was supported by Hornetsecurity’s shareholders PSG, a growth equity firm partnering with middle-market software and technology-enabled service companies, and Verdane, a Northern European growth equity investor. 

With the acquisition, Hornetsecurity aims to extend its reach in the North American market.

Led by David Poellhuber, President and Founder, Zerospam provides cloud-based email security solutions to the SMB market across North America, helping them block unwanted emails and combat cybercriminals. The company currently serves more than 4,000 small, midsized and enterprise customers worldwide via an ecosystem of 400+ partners focused primarily on Canada and the US.
